Album Storage

So how many of you have a hard time trying to find unquie ways to store all the albums you make? All of you right? Here's one way I store many of my albums and still have them close by to look at and enjoy whenever I want and still not be tripping over them or filling every bookcase or shelf I have in the house. These vintage suitcases serve as wonderful storage for all those albums. A couple of stacks of  them I use as side tables next to the sofa in the sunroom and the other stack are at the top of the staircase. The great thing about these old suitcases is that it doesn't matter if they are all banged up and not perfect. They can hold heavy items easily. They can be stored under a bed. They are easy to move and you can stack them to the ceiling if you want and they look great as a collection!

Storage for dies

I have always liked to be organized. So for that reason is why I always keep my eyes open for new ideas for storing my art "stuff". This is how I store my Tim Holtz dies. I purchased an old overnight case on ebay for $9.00. When I received it I loved all the "scars" of history the item had. I cleaned it up a bit and then began the transformation. I had Tim Holtz's Crowded Attic 12x12 paper stack and had been wanting to use it but had not found the right project to use it one. I used  mod podge and covered the entire suitcase, leaving the leather trim as is. After it was dry, I added buttons, tags, gears and what ever presented it self. I love how it came out. Now I have all my TH's dies in one place. I am able to decorate my room with the case and it is easy to see, move or carry it where ever I need it. Doesn't it look like Tim Holtz? Next I will show you how I store alot of my albums through out the house.

Happy Birthday!!!

Here is the project I have been wanting to make for some time. I wanted to make a "birthday party" collage. This is it. Everything on this piece of art represents something to me in my life time. The girls are of course the "Scrappy Girls".  Everyone of you that has a good friend knows how important they are in your life. I have been lucky to have "3" that mean the world to me. They are the party girls. The numbers represent an age in my life that has great significance. Some of those ages you can probably relate to, like 16, 21 and maybe a couple of others. We don't need to go any further. I was always taught that it was impolite to ask a lady her age......anyway, birthdays are happy times. It means that it is YOUR special day. It's all about you. We all like those times right? That's the day you can have it your way. Do what ever it is that you have been wanting to do. Getting special attention. Receiving lots of gifts...well most of the time. My favorite part is going to dinner with the ones that mean the most to me. Having a fun day. The very best part for me is getting those phone calls all day long from family and friends and sometime getting a surprise from someone you weren't expecting to hear from. Time flies, so go out and make your birthday the very best day of the year.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!.....smile...
