Summer Art

I have been very busy making more books. The summer inspires me I think. I just keep going and enjoy all the ideas that are floating in my head. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is go to my studio and start writing down all the ideas that came into my head while I was supposed to be sleeping. Needless to say I don't sleep much. So I thought I would give you an idea of what I have been up to.

The first two books are travel logs that I thought I would make because of a couple of trips I have coming in the future. I didn't make them for me but for a future craft faire I will be participating in. Most of my books I've made over the past 3 months I have made for purchase. I have been building a clientele that have made requests for certain types of book with different themes. This has been fun. I love hearing what  the client wants me to design and I get to go crazy with ideas that pop into my head. This just challenges me and I love that! In the first photo, you will see a blank tag on the front cover. That allows for a hand written title to be put there to name the destination or a small picture  from the trip taken.

The second travel log is cut using the Tim Holtz suitcase die. Love this one. I have made a number of these with all sorts of designs. Using different themes and a combination of papers. The paper used on both of these travel logs are from the same paper stack. The paper stack used was also from Tim Holtz, Destinations. Both books are small and compact to make it easy to pack and carry while traveling. The first one is 4"x 6 1/2" and the smaller one is 4 3/4" x 6". Both of these books have chipboard covers. Both books have lots of tags for journaling or for pictures and many pockets for memorabilia for your travel.
