The Beautiful Tree of Life

One of my clients had asked me to make one of my journals using an old book she had that she just loved. This has to be one of the most beautiful book covers I have ever seen. It was a real pleasure to work with this book not only because the cover was so pretty but the inside was just as pretty. Here are a few pictures to show you. I love the way this book came out.
Isn't this just one of the most beautiful book covers?

Beautiful Ladies Daily Planner 2013

Here is a journal that was a request from a client. She wanted a daily journal or planner for the year of 2013. She wanted something that looked very sophisticated and feminine. I love the way this altered book came out. I used clip art of Glamour Girls. I can't remember where I found them because I have had them for quite
 awhile.

The book itself is a very old hardcover book that I found at the flea market. The base paper I worked on was watercolor art paper. The back of each month divider is covered with old music paper. The book itself is a very old hardcover book that I found at the flea market. The leather strap on the front cover is from Zutter. It came with a buckle and two very tiny keys. I painted the leathe strap and the buckle with gold Rub 'n Buff.

It may be hard to see but I emblished each of the ladies with their necklaces or hair pieces with pearls or rindstones. A little Stickles was also used here and there. I use Modpodge on the covers and on each pictured calender page to make everything a little sturdier.

Next you will see two slit pockets on the page that has each calender month on it. The top tag pulls out to jot down notes or lists. The lower pocket contains a folded piece of paper to jot down birthdays, anniversaries, or events you have to remember.

The last thing I did was go back over the pictured pages with was crayons to outline a few details to make it pop just a bit more. I love this book......finding it hard to let some of my works go......lol. But I did. I sold this one.
